Red Blue Challenge! Day 1

8:00 AM

So today starts the beginning of my journey to get in better shape and gain a better outlook on everything in my life in a 6 month series I’m calling

The Red Blue Challenge!

Starting today, I’ll begin my day with Sit-Ups and Push-Ups shortly after getting the kids up and fed.  How many of each is a mystery to you and me both right now!

I’ll also be focusing on giving up Soda-Pop!  That’s going to be a tough one!

As the days get nicer outside, I’ll be loading the kids up in the wagon and start taking walks with them.

My goal is to get to a “Happy and Healthy” weight by the new year.  I’ve also gone ahead and added a countdown to the sidebar of all “Red Blue Challenge” posts to help me keep track of the date!

Why did I decide to start this challenge?

Simple!  I have a beautiful wife and two amazing kids who I love with all my heart!

I’ve noticed lately that I’ve been feeling more and more “Out of shape” when doing normal tasks like climbing stairs or doing chores.

I’ve also been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea as well.

All of these issues are most likely caused by a “Terrible” Diet and Decrease in Activity from becoming a Stay at Home Dad!

Otherwise known as “Getting Fat!”

Seriously…  I’ve looked and felt better!

The Gear…

I currently do not own a scale of any kind, so I’ll have to gauge my progress visually until I can eventually get one.

In fact, I don’t have any work out equipment of any kind!

I am interested in gaining a “Fitness” sponsor who may be interested in supplying me “Proper” workout gear along the way!

Contact me at chris@heyyouredblue.com if interested.

If you’re not a sponsor and you’d like to help out, please feel free to donate to my cause by clicking the Donate Button in the Sidebar!  Totally optional of course!

I’m 110% dedicated to gaining that “Superman” body and a healthier lifestyle for not only MY future but to be there for my children’s future as well!

I’m looking to keep everyone updated on my progress a few times a week so be sure stop in and say hi.

I’d appreciate the encouragement!

You can also check me out @heyyouredblue on Twitter as well if you’d like to offer up some friendly words of support as well!

Great idea!!!! I love that you want to be the best
You can for your family!!! There’s no greater thing that
You can give them but a happy health you who loves them. If you are looking for a pop replacement there are some great options. I am following trim healthy
    Mama (which is a lifestyle
Men can follow too for weight loss) and it eliminates sugars and works on food pairings for weight loss. I have a carbonator and I make carbonated water and add sugar free flavoyrings (seeetened with stevia) with them a splash of apple cider vinegar and ground ginger root! It’s delicious!!! Even my husband will attest and it covers that need for something sweet and carbonated for me!!

There is something about parenthood that makes you want to do what you can to be fitter and more healthy for them isn’t there? I made the same decision a couple of months ago and also found a lot of motivation in committing my plans to the Blogosphere. I started with the couch to 5k challenge and I’m pleased to say that having never run at all I now run 5k three times a week and I’ve honestly never felt better! Good luck with your plan – I’ll look forward to reading more about it. Thanks for linking to #DreamTeam :0)
