I wish they’d be more willing to
Stop Eating Garbage and Eat Something HEALTHY Already!
My one year old is really good with her eating right now. She loves green beans, fruits, and just about anything I sit in front of her.
Unfortunately, she is slowly learning a very bad habit from her five year old brother.
Her brother is going through a phase (OMG I hope it’s just a phase!) where all he wants is to eat “Garbage Foods”
- Chicken Nuggets
- French Fries
- Potato Chips
- Hot Dogs
Now these types of foods aren’t terrible for you if you pair them up with healthier foods, but by themselves, they’re a recipe for unhealthy eating!
I’ve tried and tried to find healthier foods for him to eat, but just getting him to even “TRY” the foods lately have become a nearly impossible task!
HE JUST WON’T TRY GOOD FOODS!
The kicker is that he won’t even eat foods that just last year were his absolute favorites!
- Any kind of pizza BUT Pepperoni
He’s even begun to start pushing away Chicken Strips!
It’s gotten to the point that we’ve even asked his Doctor about his eating habits.
The Doctor says he’s doing fine and that he will eat if he gets hungry enough, but it’s so hard when we make something really good like Tacos and we have to put our foot down and not give into him when he won’t eat it.
I’m always so tempted to just make him something I know he will eat, but that is only going to lead to him becoming “Spoiled” and expecting to always get his way.
NOT IN MY HOUSE!!!
We use the phrase, “You get what you get and don’t throw a fit.” a lot in this house!
I’ve tried techniques like making the food look like fun animals, but that only gives him “Toys” to play with at the dinner table.
I’ve even tried adding food coloring to some foods like mashed potatoes to make them a little more fun. Nope!
I love the little guy and only want him to grow up healthy, but he’s sure not making it easy.
I really hope his sister doesn’t go through this phase!
